Impact
We want to live in a world where you can drink a local and make a difference.
Local started back in 2019 - just a bunch of uni mates with a love for beer and a bigger idea: what if beer could do good? Fast forward to today, and Local Brewing Co. is proudly based in Clifton Hill, VIC. We donate meals to people doing it tough with every beer sold, and we use surplus produce in our brews.
Why we do it?
Because we reckon beer can bring people together, support community, and start a conversation on how we can repurpose waste.
How we do it?
- Every beer purchased will make a donation through to our charity partner SecondBite
- We brew with rescued produce like surplus bread, oranges, mandarins and more
- We team up with like-minded groups to make beer a force for good
A big milestone we're proud of:
We’ve donated over 500,000 meals (and counting) since we started. That’s half a million feeds for people in need, thanks to the beer you’re pouring and drinking. We've also saved over 50 tonnesof bread and fruit in our beers that would have otherwise ended up in landfill.
Where we’re heading?
We believe every drink enjoyed in Australia should taste good and do good. We’re building a brand that’s more than just beer - it’s a making a difference from the surplus bread and fruit we save from landfill, to the meals we provide for those in need of a feed.
